We’re developing something called the ‘Youth Offer’ for South Tyneside – put simply, we’ll let you know what there is to do and what places there are to go to if you’re a teenager and you live in South Shields, Jarrow, Hebburn, Boldon, Cleadon or Whitburn.
One of the things young people have been saying again and again is that you feel like there's just not enough to do for young people in our borough.
Well, we think you’re wrong! – there’s loads to do in South Tyneside, more than ever before! But clearly, we haven’t done a very good job of letting you know about it and we have set ourselves the task of changing that.
A big part of this is about letting you know about all the great things that you can get involved in. But its also about improving things so more young people get involved, more often and making sure all activities are in a safe environment that's fun for everyone!
At the moment, we are working with lots of different young people to find out what they think are the best ways to make sure you know about and use the activities and services that appeal to you. We have big hopes for what the ‘Youth Offer’ will mean for young people in the borough. It should:
