Ebeat: Child Safety Week

What is Child Safety Week?

Ebeat is the youth website of Northumbria Police. It contains valuable advice and information for parents, teachers and youngsters to help them stay safe and provides links to other websites containing information they might need.

Child Safety Week - 20th - 26th June 2011

Child Safety Week is for anyone working with families or children. So whether you work in a nursery, childrens centre, GP surgery, school, your own home, in the community, in road or fire safety or anywhere else working with children or families, you can get involved with Child Safety Week

Ebeat is divided into three sections:

Myhub


Myhub is an interactive website aimed at 13-17 year-olds. It contains information about Northumbria Police, what it’s like to be a Police officer, advice on crime, drugs, alcohol, social networking and how to stay safe. It also includes games and links to Facebook and Twitter.


Myresources


Myresources is a website aimed at parents and teachers, with advice on protecting children as well as information and guidance on issues of concern such as drugs, internet safety, truancy and bullying.

 

The site also includes FREE lesson plans on anti-social behavior, alcohol and cyber bullying which teachers can download.


Mypod

 

Mypod is aimed at young children and allows them to play games with Polly the Police car, chat with Howie the Helicopter, learn what the police do and get valuable safety tips.
