Funding for Activities

Introduction:

Images of Sport

If you are between the ages of 13 and 19 and need funding for activities or projects, or if you are part of a group who supports these young people, this page explains the help that is available.

Changes that you should know:

  • The Youth Opportunity Fund/Youth Capital Fund is changing
  • for the financial year 2007/08
  • This year there will be three separate pots of money available
  • There is a total of £200,000 for young people to increase the places they go and the things they do

There are three schemes that you can apply for:

The Big Idea

This will be launched later this year. It is for applications of around £30,000 to provide places to go and things to do for young people aged 13 to 19. The applications will be assessed and awarded in December 2007. These projects should have high impact and provide new, exciting and innovative opportunities for young people.

Innov8, Activ8 and Particip8

These are bids of around £800 and this will be launched at the end of July 2007. Bids must fit under one of the titles Innov8 (for brand new projects and activities that have never been done before), Activ8 (for activities, residentials and new experiences) and Particip8 (for young people to take part in active citizenship). Applications will be assessed on a monthly basis.
