Members of the Check It Out youth inspection team travelled to Brathay Hall In Ambleside to take part in an adventurous challenge weekend.

The members worked with young people from the Gateshead inspection team to evaluate their work to date. The weekend was a huge success and we would like to thank the Brathay Team who are fantastic!

Craig Laing recently travelled to Government Office North East with Kyle Clifton to present to the South of Tyne members about the work of the Check It Out team in South Tyneside.

The Check It Out team will be now undertaking training starting in July 2009 to start You're Welcome training NHS/PCT training for young people. Well done Craig and Kyle.

Pictured are the Youth Inspection Team members for South Tyneside undertaking the planning sessions and carrying out their inspections at the Cave Youth Initiatve Centre in South Shields. 

Members are talking to young people who access the centre to find out their views about the activities on offer, what works well and what could be better.

The members meet every Tuesday evening at Ocean Road Community Centre from 6pm to 9pm to work on their planning as a team and preparing their workloads and reports. 

The team award centres and venues that young people visit bronze, silver, gold, ruby and platinum awards.

Watch this space for regular updates.  The project is funded until 2009 but we hope to secure more funds to continue the project.
