Sex & Relationships

Overview:

Just as we like to laugh and have fun with other people we sometimes need to share problems and anxieties with other people. Everybody needs help sometimes, we cannot always do everything for ourselves. It doesn't have to be a big problem, even if it feels silly it is usually better to talk to somebody, 'a problem shared is a problem halved.'

Asking for help, if you are a young man or a young woman is a brave and sensible thing to do. If you want help or support, think about a friend or adult that you feel comfortable with and trust and then find a good time to talk to them.

If you talk to a teacher they will not be able to guarantee confidentiality, you need to ask them what the school policy is before you tell them something and you don't want them to tell anyone else.

You can get confidential help and advice at your school nurse clinic, at local sexual health, family planning or grapevine clinics.
