A letter of application should always accompany your CV, even if you are not specifically asked for one.
Your covering letter states the post you are applying for and should highlight the reasons why the company should offer you an interview.
If you are sending a letter of application without enclosing a CV make sure that you cover the following points:
- Make a rough draft first
- State which job you are applying for and why you are suitable
- Tell them how many GCSE’s you have, or expect to achieve
- Mention any part time jobs and / or work experience
- Use good quality, clean paper and write clearly and neatly in black or blue ink or use a word processor
- Include your full postal address and telephone number including your mobile number if you have one
- Check your spelling including the company name and the mane of the person you are writing to
- Print your name underneath your signature and keep a copy of the letter.
