More than 200 young people aged between 13 and 24 were honoured in an awards ceremony recently for their outstanding achievements.
The Youth Matters Achievement Awards, held at Mortimer College, South Shields celebrated the positive actions of our borough's young people and played host to a night of music with local band Squares.
The awards are organised by South Tyneside Council's Youth Service and acknowledge young people, who are aged between 13 and 24. Many have gone out of their way to help others, overcome personal difficulties to succeed in life or have raised funds for charity over the past year.
